April at the Carcamo's

I've gotten a bit behind lately with our family blog....with all that's going on in our lives right now....

We are preparing for our move,i.e packing ourselves (might I mention for the very first time).  It's going very well so far and I'm enjoying it...being able to pack our belongings how I like and also being able to de-clutter along the way.

April was a very busy month...involving some fun adventures and also an unexpected loss.

We started the month out in Columbus, OH (house hunting).  We spent three days in the greater Columbus area exploring the suburbs of Granville, New Albany, Worthington, Dublin and Lewis Center.  After looking at four homes we found the perfect one for our family.

Our new address:
7965 Gladshire Boulevard
Lewis Center, OH 43035

The area is nice and close to everything....there are more stores and places to eat in a 5 mile area than I've seen in a long time.  We will have everything we need and won't need to go far.

Will's school is a block away and there's even a pathway that cuts through our neighborhood to his school, Oak Creek Elementary.  Josie will take the bus, something she's thrilled about, to Orange Middle School about 1/4 mile away.  Ernie's office will be about an 8 minute commute over to the neighboring town of Westerville.  Our family will also be joining the Highland Park Pool and can't wait to try out the twisty slides, lazy river and diving well.  The kids will be swimming with the Highland Park Otters.

All of this will begin on June 1 as we settle into our new Ohio home.

As we were busy planning for our future we lost a very important person in our life....Grandma, Margot Kennedy passed away on Tuesday, April 17th.  She was a wonderful, smart, beautiful woman who was a sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She was 97 years old and saw quite a lot during that time.  We celebrated her life on Saturday, April 21st surrounded by family (even Sergio, Patty and Sofia through Skype) and said our farewells.

Along with the sad moments we also have joyful ones....our little man turned "8" this month on April 23...

He invited eight of his favorite friends to our favorite park Lockridge for a Nerf Gun war....they ran around the beautiful grounds of Lockridge and under the direction of the biggest kid (Ernie) played capture the flag.  We celebrated with an Angry Bird theme and everyone got to whack at the King Pig pinata full of chocolate eggs....
Here's a few pictures of what he called the best birthday party ever:
