Will's Swim lessons

Will started private swim lessons today at a local outdoor pool. He was so excited to go that when I called upstairs to tell him to come get his suit on he yelled, "YIPEE". So we are already off to a better start than last summer. Will has always been our little daredevil and not afraid of anything...except water. We think it stems from a time when he was 18 mos old and jumped into a neighborhood pool and we literally had to jump in to get him clothes an all. That may have taken the love for water right out of him.

This summer though he seems a little more comfortable in the water and is enjoying himself. Nicole his swim instructor had him jump right in at the beginning of class and he was off. He was showing her all the stuff Ernie and I taught him last week. He can push off the wall and kick with his body streamlined and hands out front. Nicole even had him doing a few strokes using his arms. Towards the end came the real test...the boy DOES NOT like to float on his back at all. I think I even overheard him say "how dare you," his latest saying that he likes to use on Josie when she upsets him. She tried a few times and he screamed at the top of his lungs. We will have to see how that goes next time.
For now little Will has his sights set on trying his best and jumping off the little diving board. Of course he keeps muttering something about needing to be seven to jump off the diving board. Oh and if he stays in the water for the whole lesson and tries his hardest he gets his very own Megatron.

On another note: Josie jumped off the high dive last week like it was no big deal and she loved it!!

Enjoy the video and pictures.
