Ithaca is Gorges

Taughannock Falls

Bridge in College Town before brunch.

Gorge at Cornell under the bridge

Suspension bridge at Cornell

Cornell University

Yes, I stole the above title from the locals, but I just loved it so much. It pretty much sums up our visit to NY...we hiked to some of the most beautiful areas of the state. Thanks to Aunt Patty and Sergio--we've had an unforgettable weekend. We started out with a visit to Cornell University (Patty and Sergio are alumnus) and checked out all the amazing views of central NY among the cool Gothic architecture. We visited the four story dining hall and walked past the libraries, the student housing area and then took a walk out onto the suspension bridge.

The student housing looks like something out of Harry Potter and the suspension bridge gave us a breathtaking view of one of the five finger lakes in the area.

The next day we went to this very quaint restaurant called the Carriage House. Afterwards we walked the Commons area and checked out some really cool shops.
Later that day we took a picnic to the Taughannock Falls and the kids went for a dip clothes and all. Another amazing gorge for the kids to frolic in and for the grand finale a breathtaking waterfall and dessert at Purity Ice cream....yummy.
Wow this was one really cool weekend. We loved Ithaca and all of its beauty.
