Swimming With Bears

The kids just finished summer swimming for this year.  They both enjoyed swimming on a new team and quickly became a part of the Macungie Bear family.  The teams coaching staff and volunteers made the summer one we will not soon forget.

Josie finished up 9 months of instructional swim team and her time and commitment spent in the pool showed in her strokes and times this summer.  She usually shies away from butterfly and it ended up being one of her favorite strokes.  She just missed swimming 25 yard butterfly in champs.  Her starts, turns and strokes were awesome this summer and best of all she loved every minute of it.

Will also took a few months of swim lessons and wow it really showed in his swim season as well.  He went from swimming freestyle and stopping on the lane ropes for breaks to swimming an entire length using rotary breathing.  His back and breast also improved and he was able to swim all three strokes in the Championship meet on July 23.  I think Will's favorite part of the season was hanging with his favorite person, Coach Phil.  Philliam and Willup (nicknames they gave each other) could always be found goofing off on the pool deck.
