Back to School and Adventuresome Plans

It's hard to believe that we have a second grader and a fifth grader already?!  You know what they say, 'Time flies when you're having fun'...well we are sure havin' fun.  Our summer was great, but the kids are ready to head back into the classroom for another great year at Alburtis Elementary.  This year will be interesting and challenging for both our kids.  Josie will have another year with the same 44 kids, but two new teachers.  Team teaching the kids in different subjects to get them ready for middle school.  Josie will also have her specials, music, art, library and gym with a violin lesson once-a-week.  She'll also be adding chorus this year on Mondays.

Will had lots of familiar faces in his classroom this morning and will go from 20 min. specials to 40 minute specials this year for gym, library, art and music.  Both kids love their teachers and Alburtis teachers are the best.

Along with school the kids will have cub scouts, girl scouts, field hockey and winter swimming to keep their bodies in shape.  Ernie and I have started a running program called couch to 5K and it's going really well so far.  Running through our favorite park each evening is a great way to end the day.

We are looking forward to the changes that will come with Ernie's new position at Exel.  He'll travel a bit during the week, but will be home on the weekends.  We've planned a few trips this fall to keep our love for adventure and travel quenched.  A Renaissance Faire in September, United States Air Force Academy football and leaf peeking in October.  A trip to the 9/11 memorial in November and Philadelphia in there too.  We are also hoping to join Ernie for a few days in Columbus, Ohio to check out the area since we will be moving our family there sometime in 2012.

Check back for updates and pictures from our adventures.
