We survived yet another winter, in yet another state! Winters in Ohio are warmer than North Dakota winters and have less snow than PA or UT winters so I guess there is a positive to everything. This is truly the first warm week we've had since winter began. B-U-T--We are loving O-H-I-O!
The third grade at Oak Creek presented their class musical based on The Stonecutter, a Japanese folk tale. The concept and thought that went into the production was amazing. The teachers were able to combine music, art, poetry and dance into the production. The kids learned about Haiku poetry and the music teachers created music around one of the poems. The teachers also incorporated the popular Minecraft game into the musical. The kids designed and made all the props during art class. And, Will's class learned a dance that was performed during the musical. It was very impressive and we are so proud to have our children in such an amazing school district.

We celebrated a few birthdays last month too. Josie invited her girlfriends over for a sleepover and it was a fun-filled loooong evening of ice cream sundaes and pillow fights. Her friends are very sweet and we are so thankful she's found a great group of girls to text, I mean hang out with! Ernie caught up with me and turned 38 last month too. He treated himself to a few favorites (the list is too long to put on here) and we took him out for a Five Guys Hamburger and surprised him with a level two tune-up for his mountain bike. So he should be hitting the trails of Alum Creek State Park with the kids.

The kids are swimming and diving to get ready for the 2013 Otters season. In just a month Will's strokes have improved 100 percent and Josie is looking good on the diving board. She starts her private diving lessons next week and is very excited about her new favorite sport. She's also doing a few field hockey/basketball camps this summer to prepare for the middle school tryouts.
And if life couldn't get any busier we are also busy planning Will's Minecraft-style birthday party along with prepping our garden beds for spring, mulching and planning our square foot garden.
That's about all the excitement we can handle around here for now....
Oh and one last note Ernie and I have been married 14 years today! Our relationship has taken us to many places and on many adventures. We have so much to be thankful for and also the two greatest kids in the world to share all of our adventures with....speaking of adventures!
Next up...our sailing excursion in June. We've got our sailboat chartered, captain hired, air and hotel reservations booked. Oh and we've rented a car with no lid (kid's requested this).
