The Keys Day 4

After a day of relaxing at the Hawk's Cay resort, off the boa,t we headed out for Bahia Honda State Park (near Isla Moroda).  The sailing was beautiful and we spotted a few dolphins along the way.  This was one of the most beautiful days of all the water color was amazing especially off of the Bahia Honda area.  The water was only a few inches deep in certain areas and then it was covered in a dark grass which made it look like it was deep except it wasn't it was just grassy.   Oh and the hermit crabs loved the grassy areas we found quite a few.   No we didn't take any with us although they wanted to......

Bahia Honda State Park and the old railroad bridge

The kids dropped the anchor in the canal area between where the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean.   Very strong current in this area so we had to kayak in instead of swim....there was however a very nice area roped off for snorkeling.  We enjoyed an afternoon of snorkeling and kayaking.  The kids found lots of shells and even a conch shell with a conch inside.  We had ice cream (and Key Lime Pie dipped in chocolate) even brought one out to Capt. Joe via the kayak.  That was interesting, but he didn't mind that his dove bar was slightly melted by the time I got it to him!!

After dinner on the boat we enjoyed a beautiful Florida Keys sunset......
