We arrived into Miami on June 7 and spent some time with the Miami Carcamo's....

The kids really enjoyed spending time hanging out in their swimming pool and hot tub. It was so nice to be welcomed to Miami and served a delicious hot meal to get our vacation started! We had to cut our celebration short so we could get to bed for our early morning ahead.
We woke early and headed down to Key Largo to meet Captain Joe and to get our provisions for the week ahead....

After a shopping trip at the local Publix were ready for our adventure....
We spent the next few hours heading 8 miles out to Molasses Key for some of the best snorkeling in the world. It was like an aquarium and we really enjoyed seeing all the marine life up close and personal.
We spotted the first of many critters there on the reef. White tipped reef shark, sting ray, barracuda and lots of tropical fish.
Will was a little seasick out the first day and spent most of his time sleeping or heaving....(luckily his trip gets better)!
Josie enjoyed her first day out and decided snorkeling is awesome and was ready at a moments notice to head into the water...

Later on after dinner back at the Marina we walked over to a chocolate shop and ate Key Lime Pie on a stick dipped in chocolate. It was delicious.
On that little trip we stumbled upon a hermit crab crossing the street, a coconut (Will's first natural souvenir), pineapple plant, a dead snake and lots of anoiles. Oh yeah lots of little crabs even a big one that wanted permission to board our vessel. We have really enjoyed the wildlife here.

After all the canal traffic slowed down the kids and I took the kayak out for a spin...
We slept soundly in the Key Largo Marina canal.... AKA Millionaires Row.
Today we sailed for about 4.5 hours to Long Key and are anchoring here for the night. We took a swim, ate taco salad for dinner and watched the sunset. Wow are we tired.....
Tomorrow Hawk's Cay Resort for some luxurious accommodations.....
Sailing from Long Key to Hawks Cay was a lot of fun. Ernie and the kids got to put both sails up and learn a bit about sailing.
