Seashells in Connecticut

Friendships are like seashells...beautiful, fragile, one of a kind, no two are ever the same.  Every now and then you come across one that is just a bit more special than the others that litter the beach.  The kids and I went to Connecticut for a end of the summer trip to see our friends the Roesgen's.

We met the Roesgen's while stationed at Randolph AFB, TX in 2005.  Its been fun getting together with them and continuing to have fun times outside the military.  They've had two girls since we moved from Texas and its so nice to get our families together.

Annie and Chris opened their home to the kids and I and showed us around Danbury and Westport, CT.  We took a trip to Stew Lenard's ~The Largest Dairy Store in the World~ where the kids ate ice cream and looked at the animated farm animals.  Afterwards, we took them swimming.

The next day we grabbed Starbucks and then headed to the shore in Westport to a quaint spot called Compo Beach.  The kids waded into the Long Island sound searching for seashells and also played on a giant playground right on the beach.  We then went into downtown Westport and ate lunch at Bobby Q's and shopped a bit at Banana Republic and The Gap.  We finished our perfect day off with giant cupcakes from Crumbs.
