Brackets, Wires and Strings

This week has been very busy for Josie....  As if  starting fourth grade was exciting enough... Josie  started playing a new instrument and got braces.  She's really enjoying the violin even though they're not allowed to use the bow yet.  She's been picking away to her practice CD.  She has once a week 30 minute lessons at school for the entire school year, and will have a few performances later on in the year.  Since violin requires her to practice 100 minutes a week she had to choose between piano and violin so she's taking a break from her piano lessons and focusing on the violin this year.  We are very fortunate to have such an amazing music program available to us through the East Penn SD.

3-2-1 say cheese...

Josie went for a visit to Dr. Frey's office this week and took home a bunch of loot...soccer ball, t-shirt, candy, pictures of her mouth from every angle and so on.  But the best part of her visit was the go ahead to wear braces on the top to fix her front teeth.  We returned two days later and had them put on...hot pink brackets all across the top.  She is very excited that Dr. Frey and his team will be able to help her have a beautiful smile in just nine months.

Here's a few pictures...
