A November to Remember

November has been full of  adventure...

Some fun, opportunities that will bring about new beginnings, and lots to be thankful for, as we prepare for Thanksgiving day.  I took the kids over to our favorite park, Lockridge and took pictures of the last bits of fall foliage.  The days are shorter and the leaves are starting to fall to the ground so I wanted to enjoy it for a few more days.  The kids are out of school early everyday this week for teacher conferences. Report cards came home last week, and the kids continue to impress us with excellent marks and dedication to their studies.  Here's a few of the pictures...

Will finished up his fall soccer season, which I head coached.  The boys did really well, and learned a lot.  Our kids read, read, and really read during the fall read-a-thon at school.  In three weeks Josie read over 2,500 minutes and Will read over 500 minutes.  So glad my kids are learning at a young age the importance of reading as a tool for lifelong learning.  I was reading right along with them and finished up The Girl Who Played With Fire and Eat, Pray, Love.

Of course November is my birth month and I turned 36 this year by celebrating with Ernie the kids, and a yummy chocolate ice cream cake.  I'm enjoying my 30's and learning more about what I want from life an ultimately what's important, and what's not so much.

I drove into NYC for a little birthday get away with a very dear friend...Annie.  We met at the MET and explored one of the greatest museums in the world.   One of my favorite things to do.  I've visited The Louvre and Orsay in Paris and the MET ranks right up there based upon all the amazing items you can see.  This visit I was able to stroll through the photography section, and of course the 18th and 19th century paintings from Europe are always worth a look.

Lunch at Rockefeller Center
We enjoyed lunch at Rockefeller Center next to the ice rink and strolling through the shops.  Then we topped it off with martinis at The Plaza's Oak Room on a Sunday afternoon.  Great times and a very memorable day.
Another highlight of this month is I'm starting a new job.  I will be joining the teaching staff at Swim-In Zone, the premiere swim school in the area.  Looking forward to learning from one of the top swim instructors in the United States.

We'll top off this rather cool month with my favorite holiday, Thanksgiving.  What a perfect day to remember all we are thankful for, and to just say 'thanks.'
