Throwin Candy and Bringing Home the Loot

The creepiest, candy-filled month of the year was a month full of parades more parades and loads and loads of candy.  The kids had quite a few opportunities to wear their costumes this year and lots of fun doing it.  We all walked in the Macungie Halloween parade with the scouting groups.  Josie's junior group went all out in their new green style and Will's tiger cub pack rocked out like rock stars.  It was fun to take part in this small town parade and walk the streets throwing candy to all the excited kids.  Our kids had two bags each and loved tossing it out.  Next year we'll have to bring a wagon full since those two bags lasted about 4 blocks.

Next, the kids enjoyed Halloween at school Alburtis-style.  The kiddos enjoyed fun-filled parties with their classmates topped off with a parade through the borough of Alburtis for the community to see. Josie was a leopard cat and Will, Boba Fett.  I even dressed up as an Air Force Navigator.

Josie and Margot dresses up and ready to trick or treat in downtown Emmaus.

In Pennsylvania...there are several chances to trick or treat during the week leading up to All Hallows Eve.  In the Lehigh Valley they spread the days and locations out by proximity.  So we let the kids pick one other night to go out.  We really like the quaintness of Emmaus and its Main Street so we took the kids there and then had dinner afterwards.

Halloween weekend was filled with lots of fun...a soccer game, hike at Hawk Mountain and carving our pumpkin before heading out to get some loot on the streets of Alburtis.

Of course no Halloween is complete without a visit from the Halloween witch, and wow she got a lot of candy this year, and the kids got new sleds to enjoy... since snow is just around the corner.
