Fall Hike to Bear Creek

Just a short hike up the hill from our house is Bear Creek Ski Resort.  Not as grand as the elevation in Utah, but rather nice with a conference center, lake, hotel, grille and renowned spa.  The resort has designated trail heads for hikers and mountain bikers.

They also allow dogs so we were so happy to stumble upon it.  After getting our official free season passes good through November we set out on the blue trail.  After going in a few circles we opted for the red trail and headed up the mountain.  Theo peed on every other tree and lead the way to the top.

Getting down off the trail was a bit more challenging.  Theo made it without a problem and the kids and Ernie scuttled down.  Thanks to mt REI hiking poles I made it without any cuts or bruises.

Just when we thought the adventure was over we headed down to the ski slope area...currently covered with very tall grass...Theo's was in heaven.  Down to the chair lift area and over to the lake.  A grande finale for our sweet boy Theo as he ran, jumped and swam til his hearts content.
