We heard from the relocation folks last week and are very excited about the benefits offered by Exel. We were all ready to have them ship our cars out and fly there, but Callie isn't covered and when we looked at the cost associated with flying Callie out we just didn't want to pay it ($1600). So after getting all excited about moving in one day we are back to a four day drive with both cars and the furry girls. We are going to separate the kids this time and hope for a more pleasant drive out. We will drive east on I-80 and go through Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia. So it should be an adventure and we will hit a few states we haven't been to yet. That will probably bring the number of states Callie's visited up to like 30 or something. She's a well traveled pooch.
So after we get our pack out dates from the movers we will have a timeline. Still waiting to hear from them...hopefully we'll here from them on Monday. Exel will put us in corporate housing over in PA for 60 days. Ernie will stay there off and on and we'll stay with his parents in VA. I will drive up solo for a few house hunting trips. We want to take our time and find the perfect house to rent in a good neighborhood and in a good school district. Luckily the "place to live" as far as school districts go is on the west side of Allentown where Ernie's warehouse is. So his commute will be nice and short. We are looking forward to checking the area out and Exel offers a rental tour whatever that is, but it sounds like an agent shows you around the town (schools, shopping ect.) and also takes you to properties. Really cool!!
More later on all that.
Have a great day! Enjoy the pictures of the area...check out the ski area notice all the snow and then around it there is no snow. It will be much different than Utah snow.
